Tino Martinez slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at the ballpark as the Detroit
Iron Gloves beat the Columbus Crowd in 13 innings by the count of 12 to
9.

The score was knotted at 9 after nine innings.  Detroit came out the victor in
the 13th inning.  Marcus Giles started the inning off right when he delivered
a single.  Jacque Jones came next and he drew a walk.  Martinez then smacked
a three-run homer (his 20th of the season) giving Detroit the victory and
sending the 26,135 home-town fans home happy.  Detroit and Columbus each
finished the afternoon with 14 hits.  

Francisco Rodriguez(5-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 innings.
Ron Villone(6-5) suffered the loss in relief.  Detroit scored big getting 3
runs off him in 2 innings.
